Turnip Rock is in Port Austin at the tip of a small, private peninsula called Pointe aux Barques. It’s located just offshore the shallow waters of Lake Huron. This gravity defying rock formation got its turnip-like shape from gradual erosion caused by waves breaking down its soft, limestone stack.
