Fresh Cherry Bombs

Barbecues with family and friends around the Fourth of July always come along with a large dessert table. For a healthier treat that still has amazing flavor, these fresh cherry bombs are a quick dessert that your kids will love helping you create for your next gathering.

Cherries are delicious and very beneficial for your health. They have anti-inflammatory properties, can help lower the risk of heart disease, and are filled with antioxidants, vitamins and dietary fibers.

The mitten state is the best place to get juicy cherries, as it is home to Traverse City, the “Cherry Capitol of the World.” All cherries are in season in Michigan from mid-June through early August, which makes Independence Day the perfect time to stock up on this fruit.
