Description
This refreshing and spicy mocktail — made with blood orange, jalapeño, lime juice, simple syrup and lime-flavored sparkling water — is perfect for Cinco de Mayo or any hot summer day.
Ingredients

- 1 blood orange, quartered
- 1 jalapeño, sliced, seeds removed if desired
- 4 large limes, juiced
- 6 Tbsp. simple syrup
- 1 12-ounce can of lime-flavored sparkling water
- Ice
- 1 Tbsp. coarse salt for the rim (optional)
Instructions
- If a salt rim is desired, rub some lime juice along the rim of the glasses and dip in coarse salt.
- Divide jalapeño slices among 4 glasses and press down with a muddler or spoon. Leave the jalapeño slices in there if you desire a spicier drink.
- Add ice.
- Add the juice of a quarter wedge of blood orange and 1 lime.
- Add 1½ tablespoons of simple syrup to each glass and stir well. Adjust sweetness if desired.
- Top with lime sparkling water. Cheers!
