Storing Your Produce: Better Safe Than Sorry

We are very well advanced these days in regards to the quality of our food. It’s safe to say we’ve come a long way from having to salt everything in the attempts to keep it from spoiling.

  1. Make sure your fridge is the right temperature — about 41 degrees or less. You want it to be cold enough to ward off the growth of any pesky bacteria.
  2. Always make sure that raw meats don’t touch anything else. Raw meat is a perfect breeding ground for things you just don’t want to ingest.
  3. A very simple and sometimes overlooked step, wash your produce thoroughly! You’d be surprised how much good a little hot water and a little vinegar will do.
