Logan Yang
When he’s not busy with school or sports, Logan Yang, 13, takes pride in giving back to his community. One of his most recent and memorable service projects was donating water to soldiers in the military.
“I love helping people in my community,” Logan said.
Logan has been named Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan’s May #MIKidsCan Champion of the Month in recognition of his healthy lifestyle and commitment to giving back.
This busy seventh grader has been a part of the Boys and Girls Club of Lansing for as long as he can remember. Along with community service, this group keeps members occupied with a variety of recreational activities and educational programs.
“I enjoy track and soccer, but especially track because I’ve made new friends and gotten to travel,” Logan explained. “It’s a lot of fun to compete and see places away from home.”
With the school year coming to an end, Logan looks forward to keeping himself busy and staying active throughout summer.
“When the sun is shining, I’m going to enjoy it,” he explained. “I can’t wait to play soccer and basketball outside with my cousin.”
Logan advises other kids to keep their bodies strong by staying active and steering away from chips, candy and pop.
“Being healthy while you’re young has a positive effect on your life and future,” the young athlete explained.
