Winter spices for coffee drinkers

Mocha Coffee
On the obsessed side of “self-proclaimed coffee addict,” I’m always on the look out for new concoctions, and dedicate an entire Pinterest board to my love of the warm, caffeine juice. My favorite time of the year is when Starbucks releases the fun, festive red cups and peppermint mochas.
As a result, and a money-saver, I wanted to find tried and true ways to recreate the favorites of winter coffee blends in your own home. The recipes below all have a holiday spin on their flavors, but would be delicious all year long, even in iced alternatives.
Gingerbread Spiced Coffee: A mix of cinnamon, ginger, molasses, vanilla, coffee and milk.
Spiced Irish Coffee: Heavy cream, nutmeg, sugar, cinnamon, coffee, chocolate syrup and Irish whiskey make up this spin on a winter favorite.
White Spiced Coffee: Milk, coffee, cinnamon, cardamom, honey and (optional) dark rum make up this delicious blend.
Amaretto Mocha: A combination of milk, creamer, brown sugar, cocoa powder, coffee and almond extract.
Peppermint Coffee Cocoa: My personal favorite, this coffee mixes creamer, sugar, hot chocolate mix, salt, coffee and peppermint extract.
Holiday Spiced Coffee: An all-encompassing holiday spice concoction with coffee, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and ginger.
