  1. The hockey team that I am on plays on an outdoor rink. Because of this, it is very cold during my practices and games and I often don’t feel thirsty. I remind myself to drink water anyway. It is important to stay hydrated to keep my body healthy.

  2. My son has a wonderful experience learning to eat right and take care of his body in order to perform at his best for himself and his teammates, out on the ice! Devan has learned great sportsmanship, team playing and has learned to be selfless in his sport, which has made him a better person, even outside of the rink! The sport of hockey has brought a lot of excitement and great qualities to my son, which he enjoys sharing with others! He would love to be able to skate at a Red Wings game. It would really complete him as a hockey player, to just be apart of the Red Wings world, even for one awesome evening.! Thank you! Michele Grayshaw

Also another thing he has really come to realize is that no-one is ever good at something the first few times they try, but with practice, and determination you can achieve anything you want. He loves to go each week and since september he has improved so much its amazing!!

He has taught many lessons to many people, young and old, about how healthy habits can bring out the best in people!! For a little boy who had to sit along the glass for a year because his body wasn’t healthy enough to play the game, he sure has come a long away thanks to not only the physical healthy habits he picked up along the way, but also from the healthy habits one can’t see, but only feel!!
