1. What is your favorite thing about living in Michigan?
Absolutely our diversity. I truly believe that Michigan holds the best of any world you’d like to be in. We have been blessed with an abundance of fresh water, beaches, winter sport outlets, diverse seasons, and even more diverse communities of people.
More specifically, I’m obsessed with Grand Rapids. A beautiful city categorized as the epitome of diverse with food, music, art, and more. Also, Michigan craft beers are unbeatable.
2. What things do you find yourself doing that you said you’d “never” do?
Being OCD about organization and my planner. Addicted to coffee. And a transformed meat-eater (formally a 7 year vegetarian).
3. What are your favorite ways to stay healthy?
As a sufferer of old high school injuries, sometimes I struggle between the types of exercise I want to do and the types I actually can do. That being said, I love yoga, Pilates, pure barre, hiking, biking, and paddle sports when I can fit them in. I’m also a foodie. I strive to eat purely local, Michigan food and organic whenever possible.
4. What songs or artists are in heavy rotation in your iPod right now?
I use Spotify exclusively. I also have the most diverse song lists. I listen to pretty much every single genre, every single artist and every single song. Though I think you’d be hard pressed to find me head-banging to heavy metal any time soon.
5. What are your favorite things to read online? How do you stay informed and inspired?
I’m a complete information junkie. My Google Reader and Flipboard are chock-full of health news, political news, international aid and humanitarian effort, technology, fashion, celebrity gossip, and everything in between. With Twitter and Facebook mixed in there, my constant connection to news throughout the day is effervescent.
