Festive Holiday Mocktails the Whole Family Can Enjoy
The holidays come along with get-togethers, sparkly outfits and festive drinks. However, those pretty beverages often come with alcohol in the mix – sometimes leaving non-drinkers to miss out on the festive nature of the cocktails. We’ve got you covered with two holiday mocktails for the whole family to enjoy.
These holiday mocktails are low in added sugar but rich in flavor and elegant in presentation. Enjoy cozy holiday flavors in these no-alcohol renditions of the mimosa and Moscow mule.
1 cup cranberry juice, no sugar added
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup cranberries
12 ounces lemon (or other citrus-flavored) sparkling water
Dried orange garnish
In a bowl, mix juice from 1 orange juice with cranberry juice and cinnamon.
Cut the other orange into slices, then into wedges.
In an ice tray, place 2 cranberries in each along with an orange wedge. Pour over the juice mixture and freeze until solid.
In a champagne flute, place two of the ice cubes and pour sparkling water over it. Allow the ice to melt into the drink slightly before drinking. Garnish with a dried orange slice (see recipe) if desired.
Optional – lime wedge or dried lime slice and cinnamon stick for garnish
Pour the apple juice, lime juice and cinnamon into a copper mug or a glass filled with ice cubes. Stir well. Top with ginger beer and give it another light stir. Serve with a cinnamon stick and dried lime slice or lime wedge for garnish if desired.
