Vegan Thanksgiving: Metro Detroit Restaurants, Bakeries With 2022 Holiday Menus

If you are vegan but don’t have the time, ingredients, products, or motivation necessary to get in the kitchen and make Thanksgiving a grand slam this year – relax! 

Plenty of acclaimed vegan restaurants, food trucks and other businesses in Michigan have you covered this year. Check out this list of catered, delivered or dine-in plant-based Thanksgiving spreads offered across Metro Detroit as you get your holiday plans in order.  

Note: If you are interested in one or more of the meals below, be sure the selected business still has orders available at the time of your inquiry.  

Vedged Out Food Truck (Carryout) 

What’s on the menu? Vedged Out’s “Vedged Feast” is offering an $80 feast that serves four people. Orders are packed cold and come with heating instructions. The feast includes a whole roasted cauliflower, your choice of four sides, cranberry relish, and a loaf of maple-glazed pumpkin bread. Click here for more info

Pickup: Quantities are limited, and orders must be placed by Friday, Nov. 18. Order pick-up is Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 12 Mile & Southfield Road from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and 5660 Maybee Road in Clarkston from 4-8 p.m.  

Aratham Gourmet to Go (Carryout) 

What’s on the menu? Aratham’s Thanksgiving Feast feeds four to six people and includes “meat” loaf served with exotic mushroom gravy; cheesy potatoes with seared leeks; green bean casserole with toasted almonds; fall harvest salad with balsamic dressing; cranberry relish. The cost is $99.95, plus tax.

Pickup: Place your order by Sunday November 20th. Orders are available for pickup at Aratham’s Troy and Westland locations on Wednesday, Nov. 23 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. You are asked to please specify your pick-up location. 

Detroit Street Filling Station (Carryout and Dine-in) 

What’s on the menu? Individual carryout- regular or gluten-free meals- cost $35, plus tax, and include seitan roast slices (or the gluten-free option of roasted acorn squash); wild rice stuffing; arugula-almost-dried cranberries salad; mashed Yukon gold or sweet potatoes; a mini pumpkin pie, and more. The dine-in option is similar and can be viewed here

Pickup/Dine-in info: Pickup times and dates are Tuesday Nov. 22 between noon and 7 p.m. and Wednesday, Nov. 23 between noon and 8 p.m. Thanksgiving dinner plates will be sold as dinner specials for dine-in only at Detroit Street Filling Station from 4 p.m. until close on Nov 22. And Nov. 23. Their regular menu will also be available on those days. Dine-in is first-come, first-served with no reservations. 

Spacecat V-stro (Carryout) 

What’s on the menu? Spacecat – located on West Nine Mile Road in Ferndale – is concocting a “Thanksgiving Celebration Box” loaded with  

  • Lentil loaf 
  • Stuffing 
  • Mashed potatoes 
  • Mushroom gravy 
  • Whiskey carrots 
  • A sweet potato biscuit 
  • A dessert choice

Thanksgiving Dinner at The Old Shillelagh (Dine-in only) 

What’s on the menu? For $25 ($20 for VegMichigan members), guests can enjoy a plant-based buffet complete with chickpea tofu turkey, vegan shepherd pie casserole, stuffing, sweet potatoes and more. The cost includes all fountain beverages, but alcohol must be purchased individually. 

There is limited seating so register and pay asap to reserve your spot. The event, at 349 Monroe St., takes place on the second floor.

Chive Kitchen (Carryout) 

What’s on the menu? Chive’s expansive holiday menu includes individually priced items like “Furkey” slices, housemade maple seitan, green bean casserole, baked mac and cheese, portobello steaks and much more, including dessert options and wine and prosecco pairings.

Pickup: Catering orders require at least 24-hour notice at Chive, which is located at 33043 Grand River Ave.  

Jacq n Diane’s Juice Box (Carryout)

What’s on the menu? Jacq n Diane are whipping up a $60 feast for two that is all vegan and gluten-free. The dinners include:  

  • Stuffed acorn squash 
  • Garlic mashed potatoes and gravy  
  • Green bean casserole  
  • Roasted Herbed veggies  
  • Stuffing 
  • A slice of chocolate or pumpkin pie (additional slices are $8 apiece)  

Order: Call 248-369-8034 or message the store on social media to order.  

Pickup: Orders must be placed no later than Nov. 16. Pickup for the order is Wednesday, Nov. 23. Jacq n Diane’s Juice Box is at 3034 Grange Hall Road in Holly. 

Shimmy Shack (Carryout and delivery) 

What’s on the menu? The Shimmy Shack food truck has a “Savory & Sassy” family-sized meal for sale for $25 or you can indulge in an individual-sized dish for $9. The meal includes a four-layer Thanksgiving casserole, a baked oniony potato & protein tempeh side, “mac n cheez” and a side of pad Thai. You can also order an 8-inch or personal-sized pie. Pickup: Call 734-228-5990 or send an email to [email protected] for pickup info, as the truck is in Plymouth but doesn’t have a set address. Pickups must be made by the end of the day on Nov. 22. Deliveries take place on Nov. 23 for a $10 fee.  

Nourish Juicery and Kitchen (Carryout) 

What’s on the menu? The menu is massive this year at Nourish Juicery and Kitchen, which is doing individual and family-sized dinners, sides, starters, desserts, and extras. They even offer brunch section, featuring biscuits and gravy, a caramelized onion tart, take and bake cinnamon rolls and scones. View the entire menu here

Pickup: Nourish, located at 636 W. Adrian St. in Blissfield, will stop accepting Thanksgiving orders on Nov. 15. Email then at [email protected] with questions or inquiries.  

Zerbo’s Market (Carryout)  

What’s on the menu? Zerbo’s is doing a 16-ounce hazelnut cranberry vegan turkey sliced with gravy, stuffing, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, “meat” loaf and more. Click here for the whole menu.  

Order: Fill out a pre-order form with Zerbo’s now.  

Pickup: Zerbo’s has two locations: One is in Livonia, at 34164 Plymouth Road. The other, in Commerce Charter Township, is at 3000 E. West Maple Road. Pickup can be set for either Nov. 22 or Nov. 23.  

Blondie’s Food & Spirits (Carryout)  

What’s on the menu? For $16.95, you can get a spaghetti squash stuffed with wild rice, house-seasoning, baby spinach, cranberries and pecans with a balsamic glaze and a side salad. Blondie’s also makes a number of house-made vegan cakes.  

Order: Order online at this link. The ordering deadline is Nov. 18 at noon or until quantities run out.  

Pickup: Pickup is available on Nov. 23. Blondie’s address is 2520 W. Hill Road in Flint.  

Whole Foods Market (Carryout) 

What’s on the menu? Whole Foods locations in Michigan get in on the vegan Holiday, with a sizable menu starring Chef Chloe Coscarelli’s Vegan Meal for two, which includes a cremini mushroom roast with mushroom gravy, miso creamed greens, coconut sweet potato casserole, jalapeño cornbread dressing and pumpkin curry soup. All these items and many more are available for individual purchase as well, on the “vegan holiday” section of the Whole Foods website. Click here for reheating instructions 

Order: Order online by first clicking here and selecting your location and store. Then select “vegan holiday” and choose your options. Orders must be made a minimum of 48 hours ahead of pickup date and time, which are selected during the ordering process.  

Pickup: Pickups at Whole Foods are made in-store. The market chain has Michigan locations in Detroit, Birmingham, Kentwood, Rochester Hills, East Lansing, West Bloomfield and two stores in Ann Arbor.  

SugarBuzz Vegan Bakery (Carryout) 

What’s on the menu? SugarBuzz gets an honorable mention, because who doesn’t love pies? Here are their flavors, tiered by price:  

  • $30: Apple, coconut cream and pumpkin. 
  • $35: French silk.  
  • $40: Pecan Pies (limited amount available). 

Order: Call 248-268-1355 to order. Orders must be placed no later than Nov. 20.  

Pickup: SugarBuzz Vegan Bakery is at 23131 Woodward in Ferndale.
