    1. Hi Sue,

Thanks for reaching out to us. I am happy to hear that you have had some success with healthy eating to work towards your health goals. When trying to reduce your triglycerides and avoiding a Type 2 diabetes diagnosis, it is important to meet with your doctor and/or your registered dietitian that are familiar with you and your health to discuss actionable goals that can lead to positive outcomes. In general, it advocates for better health to keep carbohydrate intake consistent throughout the day (i.e. carb counting evenly at each meal) and cutting out excess and refined carbs, while trying to choose nutrient-dense foods that include complex carbohydrates, fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, heart healthy fats and regular physical activity. We have a ton of healthy recipes on A Healthier Michigan that could help get you started. Good luck on your health journey.

      In good health,
