Zumba: Not Just a Dance Class
When you think Zumba, dance with a Latin flair likely comes to mind.
The company behind the worldwide fitness craze originally branded their fitness classes to showcase dance as a form of cardio exercise. Since then, they’ve expanded their offerings to incorporate a variety of workout styles.
Here are some Zumba classes you might want to try:
- STRONG by Zumba – This high-intensity workout incorporates HIIT exercises to get the body energized. Each move is synced to the beat to make the routine feel almost like dancing, but with more structured movements rather than fluid ones.
- Zumba Toning – Using lightweight Zumba toning sticks, this class allows for free-range movement while also sculpting the body. The added weight allows for participants to target certain muscle groups during the routine to further define those areas.
- Zumba Gold – Even though Zumba is known for keeping individuals’ heart rates up, the company also offers a class for those that may want to take things slower. While still incorporating Zumba techniques, the routine takes a lower-intensity approach for those new to exercise or older individuals who want to stay active.
- Zumba Step – Are you bored of using the step machine? Zumba Step will give all the same benefits without the monotonous movement of simply walking upstairs. Targeting the lower body and core, the class utilizes step aerobics to have one’s legs feeling fired up.
