last-minute gift ideas
During this time of year there are plenty of people who are guilty of being last minute shoppers. In fact, the National Retail Foundation reported just last week that 90 percent of shoppers still had gifts or holiday items left to buy.
If you find yourself in the last minute hustle and bustle before Christmas, here are a few easy last-minute gift ideas:
A coffee set: There are many coffee lovers out there and this could be a perfect gift for someone who enjoys their daily intake of caffeine. Just stop by any local coffee shop and purchase a nice mug or tumbler, add a gift card, and wrap it up nicely with a ribbon or bow.
Candles: This is an easy gift for college students, teachers and neighbors. I love burning a scent based on the time of year to help get in the spirit. Candles are also a great way to spruce up the room décor as well.
Beer mugs or wine glasses: This is a fun gift for adults who enjoy local brews and spirits. Many local retail shops sell different types of mugs and glasses suited for who you may be shopping for. Grab one with a favorite team’s logo or design that reflects their personality. Pair this with their favorite preferred beverage.
Movie night kit: For all the movie goers out there this could be something simple and quick to throw together. Go to your local theater and pick up a gift card to cover the price of a ticket. Add a bag of popcorn and a box of their favorite candy and wrap it up. This gift gives someone an excuse to go out for a night at the movies — a great idea for parents who could use a night on the town.
Body wash set: Who doesn’t need a good body wash set? This is a great option for busy moms. Pick up a body wash gift set with a nice loofah and some hand lotion. Not sure what scent to choose? Vanilla is a popular choice, or opt-for stress relieving options such as eucalyptus or lavender.
Sports tickets: Get sports fans off the couch and out on the town for a fun experience with tickets to an upcoming game. In addition to the Detroit teams, consider local semi-pro teams or non-traditional sporting events. Online ordering makes this gift a breeze; simply purchase and print.
Local sports team apparel or accessories: Options are endless for anyone who is a big fan of sports and our local Detroit teams. Most major retailers have sports related-items like t-shirts, posters, hats or gloves. Or, head to a local sporting goods store to pick out something that incorporates their favorite team.
