Earlier this year, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan called on Michigan youth dance teams to show us their best moves on Instagram for a chance to win the opportunity to perform with the Detroit Pistons Mob Squad and other great prizes.

We received more than 40 entries for the #MIKidsCanDance contest from studios across Michigan including teams from Detroit, Oak Park, West Bloomfield, Zeeland, Ishpeming and many others.
Following a two-week public voting period, five finalists were selected based on the top vote-getting videos.
The five #MIKidsCanDance finalists chosen by your votes are:
  1. Inner City Dance Scope – Detroit, Mich. (560 votes)
  1. L&L Dance Studio – Grand Blanc, Mich. (560 votes)
  1. The Squad, Dance Feats Dance Center – Farmington Hills, Mich. (682 votes)
  1. We Are S.T.A.R.Z. – Oak Park, Mich. (641 votes)
  1. WHS Dance – Ishpeming, Mich. (1072 votes)
The judging panel from BCBSM and the Detroit Pistons are working to select one grand prize winner and two runner-up finalists based on choreography concept, execution, musicality, showmanship and performance.
As many as 15 members of the winning dance organization will perform with the Mob Squad during the March 24 Pistons pregame show and receive choreography training from Oscar Hernandez, Mob Squad director, prior to the event. In addition, the winning group will take part in “The Drop,” a one-day event offering master classes instructed by a carefully selected group of top choreographers in the dance industry. The dancers will also receive game tickets for themselves and guests.
Winners will be announced at www.ahealthiermichigan.org/mikidscan on Wednesday, March 4, so be sure to check back soon!
Congratulations to all of our contestants! Keep up the great work and remember, with healthy habits such as dance, #MIKidsCan do anything!
