Kick off 2015 with Frozen Nose Hairs in Traverse City
Race promoters are asking you to step up and make the following pledges if you sign up to run:
“I will take pride in my frozen nose hairs.”
“I will earn the right to lie on the couch and watch football.”
“I will not whine like a puppy if my nipples chafe.”
These are the hilarious proclamations used on posters to promote the second annual Resolution Run/Walk 5K, which will be held January 1 at 11 a.m. in downtown Traverse City.
Benefiting Traverse Health Clinic, the race offers runners and walkers the opportunity to participate in a healthy event while helping the clinic provide health care to local families. Traverse Health Clinic is a critical resource in the community that ensures all people in the region have access to affordable health care.
The Resolution Run will start and end at the Little Fleet on Front Street and follow a course through downtown Traverse City. Register online or in-person on race day from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Little Fleet.
Sherri Fenton is the Development and Marketing Director for Traverse Health Clinic. She said last year’s race drew people from Charlevoix and Harbor Springs, and hopes the milder weather will draw even more out for the second running.
Fenton said the race’s cheeky advertising is a fun way to promote health and wellness for families in the region, a cause the health clinic is committed to on a broad scale.
Want to freeze those nose hairs closer to home? There are a number of Resolution Runs throughout the state you can sign up for that will get your year off on the right foot!
