Work Out for Free All Over Michigan

Free workout classes in MichiganFinding motivation to stick to a workout routine can be a daunting task. It’s way too easy to skip a run so that you can sleep a little longer in the morning or relax on the sofa in the evening. Taking group classes makes it easier—you can put your workouts in your planner and have other people to hold you accountable—but joining a gym or going to a fitness studio can be expensive. But there’s a third option: Find one of the free group workouts that take place around Michigan. You’ll experience a combination of feeling frugal and fit while having fun and meeting people—what’s not to love?

Run This TownWhether you’re a runner, walker or a walk-jogger, this group workout is for you. It takes place in Detroit every Tuesday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m. Each week is a different route and routine, and there’s always time beforehand to get to know the other exercisers.

Beat the Train: Beat the train is an exciting bicycle ride through the city of Detroit that is perfect for anyone ready to try their first group ride. The route passes by beautiful landmarks while pushing you to pedal harder than you would on your own. Don’t be nervous if it’s your first time riding in a group, they stop several times along the way and enjoy a nice breakfast together after the workout is complete!

lululemon athletica: This apparel store has locations in Grand Rapids, Ann Arbor, Novi, Birmingham and Troy. Most offer free community yoga classes on Saturdays or Sundays. All levels are welcome and you can even use one of their mats if you don’t own one.
