Staying Healthy at an Amusement Park can be a Breeze with these Three Tips
Imagine you are walking around an amusement park. The sound of playful screams whip past you as the roller coasters soar through the sky. The smell of sizzling French fries in the deep fryer drifts under your nose and your mouth begins to water. The music blares through the speakers and you feel an urge to be adventurous. Amusement parks can be a memorable experience for you and your family, but they can also be beneficial on your path to getting healthy.
Getting healthy is a breeze when walking around an amusement park. As you power walk around the park going from one attraction to another, you are walking calories off – without the treadmill. Did you know Cedar Point, voted the best amusement park in the world, covers a 2 mile radius? Most people walk around the park twice in one visit. Instead of jumping on the train that circles around the park, you can walk around the park and take breaks at the local attractions.
In addition to brisk walking, you also have the opportunity to hydrate frequently. Did you know that 75 percent of Americans suffer from chronic dehydration? This means that many of us are not getting the recommended 2 liters of water per day. In an amusement park, there are multiple refreshment pit stops spread throughout the park. Many parks offer an option to buy a large souvenir cup and receive reduced prices on drinks all season – and water is free!
Unfortunately, not everyone is equipped to jump on a heart-pumping roller coaster, however, at an amusement park you always have the opportunity to try something new. With all the excitement and energy surrounding you from those thrill seekers, you may become motivated to step out of your comfort zone. Trying new things can lead to a healthy way of thinking. The more new things you try, the more likely you are to continue to try new things and soak up everything you possibly can from life. One day you may try an out-of-control roller coaster and the next day you may try a Kale salad. It is up to you to take a walk on the wild side.
While in an amusement park, there are little things that you can do to ensure that you are staying healthy and ready to take on any challenge. When you are looking for something that you and your family can do on a nice summer day, plan a trip to an amusement park. Get your exercise, stay hydrated and try something new! Who knows? It may become one of your annual summer vacations!
