Freshii brings energy-boosting eats to downtown Grand Rapids
Get ready to get revved up, Grand Rapids: There’s a new energizer in town. Joining the fresh-and-healthy food movement, Freshii has recently opened its first location in the downtown area. Sure it’s a chain restaurant, but the concept behind it is, well, fresh. The idea is to provide customers with natural and healthy food options that are a far cry from the burgers and fries you can find elsewhere. Perfect for a lunch run, Freshii has rice and quinoa bowls, salads, soups, burritos, fresh juices and more.
And you don’t have to worry about hitting an afternoon slump afterwards. Freshii aims to provide nutritious meal choices that can actually energize customers on the go. Their mission also includes being kind to our environment. In fact, everything included in your take-out is either recyclable or biodegradable. They also have completely paperless ordering and marketing promotions. Even the cleaning products are natural and eco-friendly!
The franchisee of Grand Rapids Freshii, Nathan Ashcraft, received his business degree from Davenport University and began researching potential business ventures in the West Michigan area. That’s when he stumbled upon Freshii.
“As a personal trainer and former college athlete, the concept of serving fresh, nutritious meals fast while minimizing the impact on the environment resonated with me,” explains Ashcraft. And since Ashcraft lives and works in West Michigan, he knew that downtown Grand Rapids would be the perfect fit for Freshii.
“The citizens of Grand Rapids are busy, active, and health-conscious people,” says Ashcraft. “Most fast food meals lack nutrients and are full of empty calories. Our meals are specifically designed to nourish the body and provide energy.”
An example of what Freshii offers: The Metaboost Salad, which is designed to help boost metabolism. It’s full of field greens, spinach, kale, mango, carrots, edamame, roasted almonds, goat cheese and balsamic vinaigrette.
My personal favorite? I can’t get enough of the Teriyaki Twist Bowl—brown rice, broccoli, carrots, green onions, sesame seeds, edamame, cucumber, and light teriyaki sauce.
Have you tried Freshii yet? What’s your favorite combination?
