A healthy way to ring in 2014: New Year’s Eve races
Instead of welcoming the new year with booze and excess, why not wrap up 2013 on a healthier foot? Join the many Michiganders who are lacing up their sneakers to run or walk in a New Year’s Eve race. Think of this alternative to late-night partying as a kick-off to your resolution to be more active!

Belle Isle New Year’s Eve Family Fun Run/Walk
Located at Belle Isle Park near Detroit, the 44th annual NYE 5k is the longest running race in Michigan! Registration is still available or you can do day-of sign up.
Midland Resolution 5K Run/Walk
Hosted by the Midland Jaycees, this year’s race will take place downtown Midland and starts at 2 p.m. for both runners and walkers. Day-of registration is available starting at 1 p.m.
Wolverine Resolution Run New Year’s Eve 2013
Grand Rapids is hosting its annual NYE race with more than 1,000 runners and walkers! Registration is still available, and you can sign up day-of until the race begins at 3:30 p.m.
New Year’s Resolution 8K Run & 5K Walk
Downtown Flint will be scattered with runners and walkers starting at 2 p.m., but you only have until December 27 to register!
Old Town New Year 5K
Race along the beautiful Lansing River Trail during this year’s run. And with nearly 3,000 spots still available, you and the whole family can start 2014 right!
