Welcome to Health Insurance Central! AHealthierMichigan.org has always been about educating Michiganders on health and wellness. With health reform on the horizon and many changes to health insurance already here, navigating health insurance as an individual is more confusing and overwhelming than ever before.
At Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Health Plan Advisors (HPA) have been answering health insurance questions for a long time. We’ve always been here to answer your questions on the phones and now we’re moving into social media and this blog to answer your questions. The HPAs will post answers to your questions and provide educational resources on health insurance and health care reform.

Steve Chapoton specializes in helping individuals and families find the best health, dental, and Medicare policies for them. Steve takes great pride in helping customers make informed decisions about their health insurance needs. Steve is a proud Michigan native who enjoys golfing and fishing in his free time.
Sarah Petrunak started her career with BCBSM in 2010 and is positive about the effect Health Care Reform will have on the industry and believes it’s important for consumers to have a compassionate and knowledgeable person to guide them on their path to purchasing health insurance. Born and raised in western Pennsylvania, Sarah has been a Michigander transplant for 9 years and resides in downtown Detroit.
Jessica Stevenson has more than 12 years of insurance industry experience and is passionate about the positive impacts of health care reform and truly enjoys helping people to access quality health insurance every day. Born and raised in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula (aka the U.P.), Jessica, her husband and two young daughters reside in Marquette.
