Looking for some after-five fun? Why not register for ComePlayDetroit?
Sports have always been a part of my life. As a child, I often spent after school on the sandy plains of first base with a mitt in hand and poised for action. Even as I grew older and began to spend my nights cramming for that test or writing that paper instead, I always leaped at the chance to go to a Tiger’s game and cheer on my team. And though I’ve long since stopped playing on organized teams and moved on to another sport (known as college), I still find myself missing being under the Friday night lights of the open field as my teammates and I strived for victory.
So, fellow young adults of Detroit, are you finding yourself in the same situation? Craving the excitement and exhilaration that comes with competitive competition? Well, then look no further because ComePlayDetroit is looking for people just like you for its fall sports season!
ComePlayDetroit is a company working to attract, engage and organize sports leagues for the greater Detroit community to join. Formed in the summer of 2010, the program’s mission is simple: to get new and old Detroiters active in the city’s social scene. As their Twitter bio states, “ComePlayDetroit provides the PLAY in Live, Work, and Play!” And with the fall season quickly approaching, even teams like Detroit’s own Lions and Red Wings are gearing up to play. So why not take a page from their book and join a team yourself?
