Celebrating downtown Detroit at River Days 2012

With activities stretching west of the GM Renaissance Center to the William G. Milliken State Park, the towering heights of the Renaissance Center provided a picturesque backdrop for a weekend full of fun activities at the sixth annual Detroit River Days. Thousands of visitors were attracted to Detroit’s beautiful riverfront to help kick off the first weekend of summer.

I enjoyed helping at the Detroit River Days event as a volunteer at the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan River Days booth, located in the midst of the bustling activity along the river. The beautiful weather and the many visitors that stopped by the area made for an exciting day. Our booth featured fun physical activities that invited people of every age to hula hoop, jump rope and draw with sidewalk chalk.  The booth was a great way for us to help people have fun while staying active during the festival.

Attached are some of the pictures from all three days of the festival our team really enjoyed.

Did you make it down to River Days this year?  What did you like most about the weekend?
