Men can get swimsuit ready too

 

I have always looked forward to the summer.  I prefer warm weather to cold and summer break certainly beats the school year.  With summertime comes the possibility that you’ll have to put on a swimsuit for a day on the beach, a common worry for many women.  But men can be just as apprehensive as women when it comes to going out in a swimsuit.  Rather than leaving the shirt on or avoiding the sun all together, get your body swimsuit ready with these five tips.

It is also important to keep in mind that while these tips will help you look great in a suit, they will also improve your overall health.

1. Walk or Run

Walking or running is a must when it comes to losing weight to show off those abs, arms and back.  Aerobic exercise like running or walking actually use fat as fuel while weight lifting or shorter “burst” exercises don’t.  To lose fat around your mid section and tone those limbs, walk or run for at least 30 minutes a day.

2. Drink water

The “No Pain, No Gain” mantra is not true.  When exercising, it is important to constantly drink water to provide your body with the necessities to continue.  In addition, many times when you feel hungry during the day you are actually thirsty, so keep water in you to prevent food cravings.

3. Tone

Every man wants huge arms, a big chest and a washboard for a stomach.  When I look in the mirror, I don’t exactly see a bodybuilder.  Instead of pounding out huge weights at the gym, tone your muscles to reduce fat stores that surround muscle.  Click here for a great toning guide.

4. Eat breakfast

Men typically aren’t morning people.  That said, breakfast is often overlooked in the interest of additional sleep time (at least that is what I would opt for).  In order to jump start your metabolism and get your body burning calories sooner, breakfast has to be part of your day.

5. Don’t forget the legs

Your legs are an important part of getting beach season ready because the contain a ton of muscle.  Muscle burns a lot of calories.   Therefore, toned and strong legs will burn more calories than slim legs, helping you to lose weight in other areas.
