Back and Neck Pain: What You Can Do to Stop It

It’s not a far stretch of the truth to say that almost everyone, at some point in their lives, has experienced back or neck pain. According to a recent article in the New York Times, as many as 80 percent of Americans have to deal with this problem, and you might be one of them – I know I am.
The most alarming fact of this article is that a large portion of our back aches are the result of our own doing: poor posture, weak muscles and a general disregard for just how hard our backs work for us.
But, fear not! There are many things you can do to stop back pain in its tracks, and prevent it from haunting you again. The American Chiropractic Association has come up with this handy list of tips for a healthier spine, among which are instructions for proper heavy lifting techniques.

Although there are back conditions which may require a visit to your doctor, there are also a number of tools available for managing your own back and neck pain. You can find some of those tools here, as well as a series of videos from a health expert on back health and pain management. And remember, a healthy back not only means less pain but a better posture, stronger muscles, and even easier breathing.
