Enjoy Low-Calorie Beverages this Summer: Part 2
Who doesn’t love an ice-cold beverage on a hot summer day? It seems to make the day complete. Some beverages can be costly and high in calories, so if you’re watching your calorie intake, it can be frustrating.
Here are some cool, refreshing, and low-calorie beverages that are sure to quench your thirst:
- Crystal Light
- Flavored water ( zero calorie options)
- Iced Tea
- Special K Protein Water
- 4C Sugar Free Drinks
- Zero calorie sports drinks
- Sugar Free Kool-Aid
I really like the Propel Zero flavored water, it adds a little flavor and will keep you hydrated. Also, Crystal Light lemonade has always been one of my picks. The directions call for 1 packet per 2 Quarts (8 cups) but I only use half because I don’t like it so sweet. Either way, it is a delicious and refreshing way to stay hydrated this summer – with just 5 calories per serving.
I love the flavor of the Special K Protein Water, but be careful because it contains 5 grams of fiber, which is a lot for drinks. I had a stomach ache after drinking it and couldn’t figure out why. Now, I dilute it by putting one packet into a 16 ounce water bottle. Some people may not be sensitive to this, but just FYI.
Who can forget about our good old friend, regular water? I like throwing some lemon into my water when I want to shake things up a bit. It helps my palate and I can drink more that way. Bottled water or tap water is one of the best options for staying hydrated in the hot days of summer.
