How Beyonce Inspires Us To Move

Launched by first lady Michelle Obama, the Let’s Move campaign is “America’s move to raise a healthier generation of kids.”

But really, the message is not just for children – it is for all of us. We can set a good example by being active with our children and peers. It’s a great way to spend quality time together, too.

I Just Wanna Dance

I love dancing. I started dancing at the age of 3 and haven’t stopped yet. I love how the music inspires the movement. If you can find a fun way to work out, you are most likely going to stick with it because you enjoy it.

Beyoncé worked with the Let’s Move campaign to help get people active. Want to know how to move it like Beyoncé? Here is part 1 of the tutorial:

And check out the dance lesson part 2:

If you took 5 minutes out of every hour daily to do this, not only would you be fit and lean, but you would also think clearer, be happier and more productive.

May is the perfect time to do this because it is National Physical Fitness and Sports Month. This month is all about moving more and dancing is just one way to get physically fit. Getting and staying active helps with overall health, especially:

  • Controlling weight
  • Controlling blood pressure
  • Controlling blood sugars
  • Raising the good cholesterol (HDL)
  • Preventing some cancers, such as colon or rectal cancer
  • Preventing heart disease
  • Preventing Type 2 diabetes
  • Preventing obesity

I always say exercise is the best medicine. It also helps you sleep better, puts you in a better mood naturally and gives you more energy. “Let’s Move” with Beyonce! 5-6-7-8….
