I love dance and dancing. It is so much fun and a great way to get moving. Tomorrow, July 31 signifies the first National Dance Day. It is a day to celebrate dance not only as an art form but also as a great way to exercise. The beauty of dance is you can do it with friends and family or alone. If there were any cameras in my home, you would definitely see me bopping around all day long. :o)

There are a few local events involving dance tomorrow. In Flint they have a Zombiefest Ball where all proceeds go to the Food Bank.

On the west side of the state there is a Zumba Party that you can participate in. There are also many Zumba classes offered throughout the state of Michigan. Try one an let us know what you think.

So Do You Think That You Can Dance?! :o)

If you are not able to do any of the above events, there is also a routine online that was choreographed by world renowned hip hop choreographers, Napoleon and Tabitha Dumo (extra cute because they are a married couple) just for National Dance Day. Check it out! It is easy and fun and they teach it to you step by step.

If none of these things make you want to dance, then maybe check out one of your favorite musicals or dance movies for inspiration. Some of my favorites are Grease, Saturday Night Fever, Singing in the Rain, Michael Jackson's This Is It, Chorus Line, Chicago, Moulin Rouge, Center Stage, The Step Up Movies, You Got Served, All That Jazz, I could go on and on.

Happy National Dance Day and share with us what you did on July 31st to get your groove on. :o)
