Fresh Coast Film Festival
Adventure. Conservation. Inspiration. That’s the theme of a new film festival making its debut in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula this week.
The Fresh Coast Film Festival will take place in Marquette Thursday, Oct. 13 through Sunday, Oct. 16 with a variety of venues hosting film screenings across town.
The event features more than 50 adventure-filled documentaries and short films, many of which are making a world or regional premiere. Organizers will also host conversations with filmmakers and round-table discussions on issues such as conservation of the Great Lakes and Upper Midwest ecosystems.
In addition, the weekend is packed full of opportunities for visitors to explore all the Marquette region has to offer during the peak of the fall color season. Ten different expert-guided tours include opportunities to enjoy fly fishing, rock climbing, hiking, waterfalls, and even a chance to learn the proper stone skipping technique.
After the credits have scrolled, the festival continues with after party events at two of Marquette’s celebrated hot spots, Ore Dock Brewing Company and Blackrocks Brewery.
