Avoiding unhealthy foods can be confusing sometimes (Whole milk or skim? Which fats are good again?), but other times it can be very simple. Keep anything in these four food categories far from your lips and you’ll be well on your way to a nutritious diet.

Is it really necessary to dip an already high-fat, high-calorie treat in batter and hot oil and fry it up? We think not, which is why deep-fried cheesecake (shown here), deep-fried Oreos, deep-fried Spam and yes, even deep-fried Coke made our list of the most unhealthy foods and drinks.

“Special” Martinis
Feeling thirsty at a bar? Stick with simple drinks like beer and wine and avoid scary, made-up martinis like the “Butterfinger-Tini,” the “Candy Corn-Tini” and this, a “Bacon-Tini.” It’s a bacon-infused cocktail that comes with its own bacon straw to help you finish every last drop. Enough said.

Note to self: Just because fries are a delicious treat on their own doesn’t mean you should top them with other fatty foods. Just one single order of Poutine, a Canadian classic of fries, gravy and cheese curds, contains a whopping 740 calories and 41 grams of fat.
