West Michigan Executive Movember Shave-Off

L to R: Brian Pangle, Jeff Lambert, Thomas Haas, Jerry Kooiman, and Jeff Connolly

All of the men are clean-shaven once again. We have wrapped up another successful year of #ShoYoMo and Movember support at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. If you recall, we announced at the beginning of November that even our West Michigan CEOs and Executives were to join in on the fun. Participating in mustache growth the entire month were: Jeff Connolly of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Jeff Lambert of Lambert, Edwards & Associates, Thomas Haas of Grand Valley State University, Brian Pangle of Clark Retirement Community, and Jerry Kooiman of Michigan State University School of Human Medicine.

As the competition came to a close this past weekend, we opened the voting to our readers on the BCBSM Facebook page as a way to vote for their favorite ‘stache. The results were impressive as community members came out in the hundreds to place their ‘likes.’ Winning in an overwhelming landslide, the Grand Valley State University student body and alumni pool came out in droves to vote for President Haas. With almost 600 votes, President Haas took home the West Michigan Executive Stache-Off trophy, and bragging rights for the next year.

Our participating Executives met at Design 1 Salon Spa in Grand Rapids for an official shave-off (and some friendly jabbing on what mustaches reigned supreme). Check out pictures of the shave-off, courtesy of Bryan Esler Photography, in the slideshow below.
