Love the arts? Kick off the Detroit Bicycle Festival the right way with Forward Art’s 2013 ArtRide.
This Saturday’s ArtRide marks the beginning of an eight-day festival packed with dozens of bike riding events and creative projects across Detroit. This event highlights Detroit’s “Big Three” of arts to break up a leisurely 10 mile ride through downtown Detroit.
Bikers will start at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra for a tour of one of the most perfectly acoustic halls in the world, designed by renowned Detroit architect C. Howard Crane. Next, ArtRiders will head over to the Detroit Opera House for a performance from the Michigan Opera Theatre’s Community Opera program. After a behind the scenes tour, bikers will continue to the Detroit Institute of Arts for a tour of the public art outside the DIA and on some of the College for Creative Studies’ property. ArtRide ends back at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra for a member performance.
