Downtown Market Grand Rapids puts the ‘grand’ in Grand Opening

The greatly anticipated opening of the Downtown Market Grand Rapids has finally come with the Grand Opening this past Labor Day weekend. Opening day (Labor Day) saw an estimated 30,000 people come through the doors to experience everything the indoor market has to offer.

With more additions still to come, the market has already become the talk of the town. The second floor of the indoor market holds space for meetings and banquets, incubator kitchens for classes and demonstrations, outdoor seating and balcony, and a full greenhouse.

The indoor market has a total of 19 vendors, with a rumored restaurant and brewery still to come. The current vendors include:

-Fish Lads: Fresh fish market.

-Montello Meat Market: Butcher shop.

-Field & Fire Bakery: Fresh baked breads and pastries.

-Sweetie-Licious Bake Shoppe: Homemade pies, cookies, and other baked treats.

-Aperitivo: Wine, charcuterie, and cheese shop and bar.

-Malamiah Juice Bar: Fruit and vegetable juices and smoothies with natural, healthy ingredients.

-Simpatico Coffee: Low-acid, sustainable coffees.

-Crescent Street Floral: Fresh floral arrangements and small home décor goods.

-Fiesta Pantry by Rylee’s: Discounted Fiestaware—art deco inspired dinnerware.

-Making Thyme Kitchen: Freshly prepared meals to go, and ready to cook. Weekly menus.

-Rak Thai: Traditional Thai cuisine.

-Tacos El Cuñado: Latin American meats, meals to go, and grocery items.

-City Produce: An indoor produce mini-mart.

-Miss Maddie’s: Organic pasta, sauces, deli salads, and butters.

-Old World Olive Press: Diverse olive oils and balsamic vinegars with different flavors.

-Spice Merchants: Gourmet spices and seasonings.

-Thornburg & Company: Homemade preserves, jams, jellies, honey, and syrups.

-Dorothy & Tony’s Gourmet Kettle Corn: Gourmet kettle corn with flavors like caramel, cheese, and butter.

-Grocer’s Daughter Chocolate: Unique gourmet chocolates with sustainable beans and local ingredients.

-Love’s Ice Cream: All-natural ice cream with entirely homemade and local ingredients.

Visit the indoor market Monday through Saturday from 9AM to 7PM and Sundays from 10AM to 7PM. The outdoor market is still open on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 8AM to 1PM and Thursdays from 4PM to 7PM.
