The More the Merrier

by Jodi Davis on September 3, 2010

Do you ever wish to talk to someone who understands what it’s like to live life as an overweight person?  Are there times when you feel that you’re the only one in the world who just can’t shed a pound even though that’s ALL you ever focus on, day in and day out?  Are you hoping to find answers to achieving a successful weight loss that WORKS and LASTS?  Well, do I ever have some great news for you…

I am that person who understands and I have ANSWERS to a successful weight loss!  I lost 162 pounds and have kept it off for 8 years… and I want to share all my “secrets” with you!  Come visit me today and tomorrow in Royal Oak, Michigan, at the “Arts, Beats &
Eats” Festival where I can be found at the Blue Cross / Blue Care Network booth.  I want to answer any questions that you may have about living a healthier lifestyle and / or weight loss; and, I can promise that you will walk away feeling inspired and motivated!  I have the ability to change your life; and with your determination and willpower – it WILL HAPPEN!

Honestly, I’ve seen it happen, over and over again!  There are countless individuals who have made up their mind to change their lifestyle – ending unhealthy habits and beginning new, healthy ones!  For instance: my good friend, Scott Morris, who has made the decision to walk as often as possible, even though he has a very busy and hectic schedule.  He knows that WALKING WORKS not only for him, but for his dogs as well – all of whom I adore, but I just must mention my favorite of all his dogs, Malik.  (Look at him here, isn’t he just gorgeous?!)

We all enjoy walking along the bluffs of Lake Michigan, especially in St. Joe where there are numerous walking paths.  Some include challenging hills, which my daughter Rachael and I make sure we “conquer” each time that we walk together!  Kirstin, Larry, Sue, and Jake join us on occasion too, which is even better: “The more the merrier” I always say!  Let me remind you that it NOT only goes for walking partners, but for POUNDS LOST too… as each person who walks with me has lost weight also!  Are they “merrier?”  Well, wouldn’t YOU be if you walked away your excess weight?  I think so!

And as far as the dogs are concerned, let me say that Malik loves these walks, along with all the other canines that I happen to take along.  Not only do dogs enjoy the daily exercise, but there are additional benefits too!  Did you know that regular long walks in early or mild stages of hip dysplasia can PREVENT loss of muscle mass from the hips of your dog!  Hip dysplasia is an abnormal formation of the hip socket that, in its more severe form, can eventually cause crippling lameness and painful arthritis of the joints in dogs.  It commonly affects larger breeds of dogs; however, dogs of all breeds and all sizes are susceptible to this inherited condition.  My point is this: if you really want to be motivated to walk, remember that you aren’t only doing it for YOUR GOOD HEALTH, but you’ll be walking to help your dog’s GOOD HEALTH too!

I hope to see you this weekend at the “Arts, Beats & Eats” Festival, but if not… please promise me that you’ll walk at least once a day?  You owe yourself that much – seriously!  Jodi
